Scratch building

My first attempt at scratch building. Getting ready to prime this rendition of a Colonial Defense Union, Hornet-class drone carrier from my novel. Years ago I created this model in Google Sketchup. Love that app. Though a friend of mine has a 3D printer, I really wanted to build this by hand. Enjoying the hell out of it. If only I’d been doing this in the 1980’s… I would have begged my way to California to build models for Hollywood.

Side note: this isn’t pulling me away from the book. Wrapping up a chapter and beginning outline and research for the next!
